I'm Safe With You When She Stands Under My Colors

I love HEB. Like, I really really love HEB. Maybe I would really really love Whole Foods if I shopped there instead of Giant, but HEB.. it's just a magical place full of dried fruit and soy soap and fresh made tortillas.. (butter flavor is the BEST).

Proportion of Blue Skinny Jeans (Billion Dollar Babes)

Purple Bandeau (mystery outlet store)
Wyatt Black Racer-Back Top (Bluefly)

Yeah, I'm one of those hooligans your mother warned you about. Flying around dark parking lots on shopping carts..

Silver and Turquoise Heart Necklace (thanks Aunt M)
Silver and Garnet Ring (Art Market)

Gianni Bini White Sandals (Dillards Outlet)

I was very eh about these shoes when I got them. I thought, well, they seem practical & I'm in the mood for a cheap pair of shoes. They've turned into one of the pairs I wear the most. So comfortable, they match everything, and I love how they look- they balance things out with the chunkier heel.

My staples- dried apple rings, glazed walnuts, and greek yogurt. Only annoying thing about being in the cart is that it functionally turned me into someone 3 feet tall with stumpy arms. I just kept pointing to things and going, 'eeeeehhhhhhh' until they magically made their way into the cart.

Aaaaand then I got a talking to for being in the cart. Seriously, people are no fun. I ignored the talking-to, by the way. That's me, rebel all the way baby!

I Look For Peace

There are not a lot of great places to take outfit pictures at my grandma's house, as you can see. So yes, that is a towel and my brother's shirt over the closet door. Makes it all rustic and old timey though, doesn't it.. yeah, I know it doesn't.

Tahari Tan Leather Strappy Heels (Marshalls)

FP Beach Dress (Tobi)

Heart Necklace (Nordstrom Rack)

Neiman Marcus Mustard Wool Cardigan (Ebay)

Wish I had more to say about today at the moment, but I'm feeling subdued. I've been sick for a few days and I can't understand it- nothing it making me better and that is very disturbing. I'm not sick enough that I feel justified taking medication or actually taking care of myself, but I feel sick enough that I just feel very unpleasant. PS. I love the outfit I'm posting today. I generally only wear things if I love them, but I especially love this. PPS. L is a sweetheart and took these photos, although there was some issue getting the camera far enough away to actually take a full body shot. We managed. :)

I Will Never Ever Be The First To Say It

I am stuck at the airport, my plane is delayed.. so what do I do? Post photos, of course, soooo narcissistic, mais oui.

I love these particular photos. I believe B compared this tunic to something off of Dynasty (I mean, really, how would either of us know, really..? Have you ever seen Dynasty? I thought not.. and yes, she meant it as an insult, not a 'wow, you're bringing back the 80s in the most FABulous way' way). I don't care. This is one of my prouder ebay finds- one of those ones where the picture is awful and the description is essentially nonexistent and you buy the dirt-cheap (relatively) item out of some strange hope that it can't be as bad as it's presented. It wasn't. By a long shot. Not only is this the rare trophy shirt (or so I'm told they're called) that is small enough for me (I swear, they made most of these things for linebackers or something...), it's in great shape, and I love the length. Iiiiiit's pretty awesome, and I think it photographs rather nicely, especially in the falling light. Aaaahhhh, twilight, you were my favorite time of day until the vampires ruined you...

Gold & Black 'Trophy' Shirt (Ebay)

Black Liquid-Look Leggings (Ebay)

Dolce Vita Red & Black Heels (Urban Outfitters)

In addition to twilight, I love me some dilapidated building (ok, grammatically questionable, but whatever). This in particular was wonderful- run-down, raw wood, approximately 12 million loose bits ready to lodge themselves in your thighs as splinters, poison ivy... But the separation of the beams and the falling-down nature of the place were great for their light possibilities.

And because what series of photos would be complete without a girl on a piece of machinery picture, I present you this:

Ah yes, so natural with my deer-caught-in-the-flashbulb look. Spent years perfecting that one. If only the gold and yellow didn't clash so badly, this is one photo that I think is going in the right direction with flash. Generally I'm wholly against it. This... well, it wants to work so badly, and it's on its way. I'll work on that.

She Teaches Modern Art

The internet is not cooperating. At all. Moving messed things up in that department royally, and now being in Canada doesn't help. Nooo internet on my computer (ie. the one with the pictures on it.), which makes things a bit difficult. Managed to get one (count it- 1! -update- what do you get when I get online at the airport? Moooore pictures, I know you are so pleased) uploaded during my visit (yes, the wireless here takes just that long). So you get one along with my apology. Speaking of wireless, I find is fascinating that some things are so very different in Canada from the States. I mean, we think of Canada as being, in so many ways, an extension of the US. I think that we forget (I mean, i know I do) some of the differences.

So being in Canada gives me way too much time to think. Also, these targeted ads on facebook are frighteningly appropriate- I've got a neon turquoise cupcake and a pile of shoes as the two ad photos right now... must.. not.. click...
Among other things that I have been contemplating here are that
a) I don't even know how to begin stocking a kitchen but
b) a bacon press is DEFINITELY a necessity and
c) while I might do it in a skirt and heels, dammit, stripping a table, painting, and sanding are a helluva lot of fun

and, naturally, other things. Also, my grandma's taken to waking me up pretty much every hour to ask if I'm ok in a concerned voice. It's hard to explain to her that yeah, I'm fine, but I'd be better if she'd stop waking me up. I'm going to have to sleep off this vacation when I get back.

On the other hand, we're bonding over watching movies, drinking tea, knitting, and .. umm.. grocery shopping. We don't talk much because English is tough for her. I mean, we talk, but we can't have deep conversations. Except for marriage. She has basically informed me, in her way, that it's time for me to get married. I need to be taken care of, in her words, and thus need to get married (in fairness, she gave me 2 options- go back to school or get married). This topic has come up a lot lately.

Dolce Vita Brown Strappy Boots (Ebay)

INC Tunic (Mustard Seed)

Gold & Turquoise Necklace (Macys - thanks mom!)
Arnette Sunglasses (Sunglass Hut)

Jeggings are all the rage in the Canadian fashion mags right now. I can't tell whether they're really behind the trend or just carrying it on and on, but it makes me happy.

Since I can't post pictures, instead I'm going to mention what I'm craving right now (besides cupcakes, of course.. ):

To say I want this so bad I can taste it would be an understatement. I tried on one of his leather jackets in a really similar style while in Florida (worst mistake- never try on something you KNOW you can't buy) and it's been pretty much all I've thought of, sartorially speaking, since. One day, gorgeousness.. one day, you will be mine. I think it would be fair to say that I want every piece this man has ever laid his mastercraft-ful hands on.

Second swoon-worthy item...

It has been so long since I've crushed on a bag. I love this. Love so hard. Lessee.. if I don't buy anything else for the next 6 months...
